Some of the things that fuel my passion for design:
๐ก community โ I'm driven by collaboration and fostering relationships with others. I believe that designers always work better together. Most of my best ideas are sparked from conversations with others!
๐ค intersectionality โ As a woman of color, Iโm aware of the power of design as a tool for social good. I aim to use empathy in every step of my design process, take time to consider the problem from multiple perspectives and lenses, and am always advocating for the user.
๐ sustainability โ My goal is to use my creativity and skills in design to find solutions to environmental issues. I believe that every organization has the responsibility to be conscious of and minimize the amount of damage they cause to the environment.
hi there!
what excites me?
Iโm Jamie, a passionate and people-oriented visual and UX designer based in the Bay Area. Currently, Iโm a product designer at Albertsons working on elevating the picking experience for Albertsons associates. I graduated with a B.A. in Design and a double minor in Wildlife Conservation and Communications from UC Davis in 2022.
how did i get here?
My journey began from doodling comic strips featuring my pet hamsters to selling art prints and custom painted shoes. I had always known that my career would be in the arts, but making that a reality was hard to imagine โ until I signed up for a co-design team at Google, where I dove into to the world of design. This is where I fell in love with the intersection of creativity, problem solving, and collaboration.
